Not all auroras are bright. This very faint, diffuse, low surface brightness display appeared late on September 3rd 2006. My camera barely detected the green-blue colour however it was quite distinct with the eye. My 16" scope is in the foreground. Image taken from Willow Glynn, Maghera.
