Image number two of the November 8th 2008 faint Moonbow. This time looking at the E section just as it was fading from view when the area of light precipitation drifted further away into the distance. To the lower L is my shadow on the ground, cast forward by the waxing gibbous Moon behind me. To the L is Ursa Major and Lynx. To the R, Canis Minor with Procyon and Gemini with Castor and Pollux. The R section of the bow cuts straight through the open cluster Messier 44 (M44) in Cancer. After this image was taken many bright flashes of lightning lit up the sky as rapid white flashes to the SE in the R section of this image. These where from distant thunderstorms. ISO 400, 30 sec exposure using a 28mm lens at F/2.8.
