ATMOSPHERIC MOON SET! |

The Moon was one day from first quarter and I managed to capture it setting from the countryside outside Maghera just before 04.00 BST. A telegraph pole and line can be seen to the lower left. My sister and I watched the Moon change from orange to red as it set over the dark outline of the Sperrin Mountains in the north west until all we could see was a bright crimson 'shark's fin' jutting up from the sky line - beautiful sight! I had to over expose the image in order to pick up some foreground which masked the blood colouration. Moon sets and Moon rise are fabulous photogenic times.....Martin Mc Kenna. March 24th 2007. |
