Now that it was almost half an hour after midnight the display rapidly shrank in height as the Sun lowered further, however the Summer Sun never gets far below the horizon and as a result the NLC display remained at this generous height for a long time. The view takes in N to NW looking along the Coleraine Road. The light trail of a passing car made for a nice foreground. The intensity of the electric blue colour was marvelous, much more amazing in reality than it looks on the image.
