NLCs

June 18/19th 00.08 BST. Thank goodness there where regular large clear sectors between the trains of Trop cloud which seemed to be moving in with greater frequency. I took advantage of these to get some exposures of this evolving structure. The lens is zoomed in a little to frame the main structure zone. This image is a classic example of what an NLC display looks like with the silvery-blue glow and delicate ripples with complex detail. Attention is now drawn to the NLCs growing above the horizon. In the image before they were faint bands, now they have intensified rapidly in that 6 min interval between images. They are now in the 3 to 4 brightness range and getting more complex with small scale whirls developing.
