June 18/19th 00.17 BST. Looking back on this I wish I had made some kind of time lapse movie which would have been amazing to show the motion of this beauty. I always prefer taking still images anyway although having another camera set up specifically for time lapse would be very productive. There have been stunning time lapse NLC videos made this season, and they are among the most magical and thrilling videos I have ever seen which offer great insight into the motion of the NLCs themselves as well as the affect of the Sun's motion below the horizon. You can find plenty of them on youtube.
