A brutal looking cell over the Atlantic Ocean captured from an isolated beach at Ballintoy Harbour along the Co. Antrim coast on December 4th 2011. This was a nasty night with strong squalls of rain and hailstones with off-shore thunderstorms predicted in a highly sheared atmosphere which had the ability to produce tornadoes/waterspouts which was exactly the reason why I was where on this late night photo shoot. You can make out the nasty black precip core under the cell falling over the sea in the darkness, it moved to the E and hit Rathlin Island soon after this, read the full image report from this night here. * All images are available for sale in the form of photo prints, canvas or digital files for licensing, if you are interested in a purchase simply drop me an email.
