A beautiful scene captured from near my home on January 6th 2009, taking in the S to SW evening sky after sunset on a frosty Winter's night fall. These red and yellow post-sunset colours were very rich and contrasted nicely with the dark tones of the broken stratocumulus above. The mountain to the S is Slieve Gallion. A plane crosses the sky from L to R and disappears above the cloud deck. I was out watching planets Venus and Mercury on this particular evening and hoping to make a sighting of rare Nacreous clouds.
